Making the scenic clothing for the show “Looking for my place”
To make the scenic clothing for the show “Looking for my place” by Loles Serrano I created this coat.
Loles Serrano had built the character of a homeless who creates her world out of newspapers. The scenic clothing for this show consisted in a coat which should seem also made of newspapers.
We thought about sticking pages with latex to a fabric, but she would have felt too warm in the scene. Eventually, I used a comic strip fabric in black and white. To get the paper rigid look, I interlined the comic fabric. For the design of the coat, I got inspired in Mary Poppins.
